A Journey Built on Purpose and Professional Dignity
IFPO MENASA was not created overnight. It emerged from a simple but powerful belief: professional security education should be accessible, inclusive, and relevant regardless of language, geography, or starting point.
The story begins in 2011, when Nadeem Iqbal witnessed something that quietly reshaped his thinking about the security profession. During a physical training program delivered by Sandi Davies, he observed firsthand the impact that structured, globally recognized education could have on security professionals. That moment sparked an idea one that would take years to mature but never lost its clarity.
As Nadeem continued working across the Middle East, the gap became impossible to ignore. Entry-level and frontline security officers formed the backbone of the industry, yet many were excluded from internationally respected certifications simply because English was the only language of delivery. The knowledge existed. The standards existed. But access did not.
Driven by conviction rather than convenience, Nadeem entered into an agreement with IFPO to localize its flagship programs into regional languages. The journey was not easy. The idea faced skepticism, resistance, and multiple rejections. But persistence prevailed.
In June 2020, a defining milestone was achieved: the first Certified Protection Officer (CPO) program was successfully delivered in Arabic. This moment did more than introduce a translated course, it opened doors. It validated the belief that global standards and local realities can coexist.
Originally established as IFPO ME (Middle East) in 2022, the organization began with a focused mission: to support and uplift security professionals across the region through globally benchmarked education.
As demand grew and the impact deepened, the vision expanded beyond borders. What started in the Middle East evolved into IFPO MENASA in 2024, extending its reach across the Middle East, North Africa, and Asia-Pacific regions, rich in talent, yet historically underserved in localized professional development.
